Silent
By Robert Fulton
Green eyes
Birch leaves
Flickering
Limbs wrapped
In snow white
Paper
Summertime
Lies
Under three feet
Of snow
Torrents of it
Frozen
In mid-avalanche
Blinding
Above the valleys
Rejecting
The placid arch
Of the sun
Which rides in
A dingy
Rising and falling
A lonesome buoy
Silent
With no bell
