| When children are young and you as their mother see them doing harm to themselves or another you do what it takes to end the strife only for your children would you lay down your life. Too soon they are all up and grown and so eager to live life on their own. You can see the hurt coming their way, but they won't listen to anything you say. You can beg, you can plead you know it's a fact, but they don't want to hear and they turn their back. Just tell them you'll be there and beg them to call. You only want to help them after the fall. You open your arms and you draw them in. More than a mother, you must be their friend. They must know that you would never say "I told you so" and know when all else fails they still have a place to go. They'll let you comfort them and maybe talk a little, the most that you can tell them is that life is a riddle. You hope they will learn from their own mistake and choose a better path next time to take. |
