I'm eating sticky dates with the seeds in And sharp cheddar cheese (The kind that's a little bit bitter) And drinking sparkling blood orange soda And I'm not thinking about you at all. You used to hang over my life like a ghoul, Eating away at my success Wallowing in my failures But now I'm ok, I'm all Grown Up And I'm not thinking about you at all. I'm getting a promotion. And a raise. You didn't know that, did you? You clearly never thought I'd get this far. These days I'm doing better than I ever dreamed; And I'm not thinking about you at all. I've got a life now. Husband, house, job; I'm writing again. Painting again. I've moved on, adapted, overcome challenges - Grown as a person. Everything's roses. And I'm not thinking about you at all. |
