...My Way Back
By Billy
So I walked down a road today.  I've traveled it countless times but
never on foot, at least not since I've had too.  Leaving the comfort
and confines of my truck I embarked on a mini mission as my poor truck
was in need of repair.  I'll get it later today from the truck doctors,
like all of us sometimes in need of maintenance.

Coffee in gloved hands, comfy leather work boots under foot a top
snow covered walk ways.  My warmest EMS fleece jacket, my sisters
Christmas gifted sweater and a great wooly watch cap I set out on a course for
home.

Breath escaping into temporary plumes of steam, my feet steady as my
body warmed from the exercise.  I walked by Center School, H.A.J.H. and
Winnacunnet all schools I went to and learned from.  They taught me
about my world, the people within it and the hardship of it.  As I passed
these places of my youth, on foot breathing winter's chilled but fresh
air I was reminded of good times and some bad.  Soring heights,
moments of great accomplishments and just a few low points I have since never
repeated.

Threw tinted lenses, over snow covered side walks, walking down well
traveled roads with my coffee in hand it gave me the chance to slow
down.   I looked around and made sure that in all the busy times we live
that even when I lose my ride I will not lose my way back home.

I made it as I knew I would and always will as it's a great thing to
know you can do.
